It has everything from the wake vortex to the ground effect blowing the snow at the sides of the runway. And look at the Sun sitting on top of that antenna. It looks like the plane landed just as an atom bomb went off at White Sands.

That the day happened to be not cloudy _and_ a MD-11 was making a landing in the suns direction is the planespotters (fully deserved!) jackpot!

A visitor from - posted Thu March 4, 2010: This photo cannot illustrate any better why you do not want to fly immediately behind a plane like this with a much smaller airplane. Having a golden sun as the background is stunning in and of itself, but then the wingtip vortices add the ultimate icing on the cake! Even the angle of the shot makes this one special, especially seeing that the nose gear is about a couple of feet from the center line. This shot ranks in my top 5 for sure!
