One of the few places in the world where you can seat on the cockpit of a B747 and play with the controls. This a/c was delivered to BOAC on 8th Sept, 1971. It was scrapped at Roswell in 1999. After that the nose section was trucked to SQL to be a part of the Hiller Aviation Museum.

What a great cockpit. I was fortunate to be in a BA 747-200 cockpit 4 years ago.

A nice reminder that pilots used to fly the heavy metal without all the digital assist they have now.

The crispness, sharpness and brightness of this photo, in addition to its size, made me feel as if I was stepping into an actual cockpit. The image even looked spectacular in its thumbnail version, which originally caught my eye. The brightness of the full sized image really brings this cockpit to life and it looks as if it was handling her business at 45K ft. You could almost hear the thirty years of stories this cockpit has to tell. This fantastic photo is now my desktop image.
