A visitor from - posted Sun December 6, 2009:Not sure why but that is normal for a 10 doing a sharp turn. I'd like to ask a Douglas guy why it was designed that way. Our mechanics used to change the nose tires by turning the nose wheel steering to the lock for each tire. Think you can do that with a Connie as well. As a former Gemini crew member I loved operating in and out of Ostend in the 10. Loved flying the 10, loved Belgium (and the great beer there) and Ostend was always a treat! It was a challenge operating the 10 out of some smaller airports but Ostend was worth the minor trouble. Great picture of a great airplane (being flown by a good company!) at a great airport. | |
