5079 (cn D116) First flown in 1963 and entering production in 1967, the C-160 was built by a Franco German consortium for the Luftwaffe and l’Armee de l’Air. The Luftwaffe had 110 of the type, of which 20 were sold to the Turkish Air Force; 83 remain in service. It is powered by the 5,565shp Rolls Royce Tyne, an engine it shared with the Belfast and the Breguet Atlantique. This C-160, from Luftransportgeschwader 63 is seen on its way to the RIAT static park at Fairford.
