Reconstructed Natter in the markings of a test aircraft at Deutsches Museum München. This was the world’s first manned vertical-launch rocket interceptor, with 24 unguided rockets in the nose. Only one manned launch was attempted in March 1945, resulting in the death of its test pilot, Oblt. Lothar Siebert. One battery of ten Natters was erected at Kircheim near Stuttgart, but no U.S. bombers flew in range and the site was overrun by U.S. troops at the end of the war.
