Very nice picture but how can a B717 possibly reach Australia when Hawaii, where Hawaiian Air is based, is over 5000+ miles away? Probably the max miles that a B717 can fly would be around 2000nm. Can anyone expound?

TO first poster: It is an ex QF 717 that got repainted before delivery to HA.

This aircraft is a former Qantaslink bird (note the rego) and is now going to Hawaiian. They will probably fit it with extra fuel tanks and fly it to Hawaii via a routing in between the many islands in the Pacific as a 717 obviously has no ETOPS rating.
