A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu August 17, 2006:Interesting stuff, nice to see some design variations going on. Similar concept to the AN74, although I doubt you will see this beauty on the dirt strips of Africa.
A visitor from Portugal posted Tue August 15, 2006:Hey, that's a Honda, they don't loose engines. Is she ready for Tunning ? Great pic.
A visitor from Germany posted Wed August 9, 2006:In the 1970s there was a German plane called VFW614 with similar engine position. That aircraft was desigend to have STOL capabilitys on dusty runways. So the wings could not be located on a far back position, like on a MD80 or 727. Engines have to be near the centre of lift. To prevent them from dust they were mounted above the wing.
A visitor from United States posted Wed August 9, 2006:What's the advantage with mounting them above the wings vs mounting them MD80 style?
A visitor from United States posted Tue August 8, 2006:It looks like the plane is smiling at you! great photo, terrible plane.

A visitor from United States posted Mon August 7, 2006:It looks like this design will cause a lot more differential thrust in the event of a lost engine, not to mention that the thrust will always provide a nose down moment.
A visitor from Austria posted Mon August 7, 2006:That's a funny one!!! :-)
