If anything ever needed a polish with turtle wax, that is it.
Yep I like her rough and dirty !!!
If you look in the photo database you'll find out she was put out of her misery in Febuary 2009 & broken up!
Nice photo, but it is heartbreaking to see a once proud jetliner in this state of disrepair.
Disappointment to the airline industry would take a lot to make her fly again!
Did you notice the discarded ULD on the left-side.. It appears to be from Swiss Airlines... So it's not just airplanes that are left here!
This just hurts... The queen of the skies looks sad, but somehow she still looks proud. Wonder if that's the "Moth Ball" I was supposed to take for a spin in FSX ;-)
Faded Elegance. | |
What a waste | |
Very nice detail in this picture, though as an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic, it its a very sad sight to behold.
Awwww...dead plane, | |
Nice picture but bad sight..
"The aircraft, on a cargo flight to Lagos' Murtalah Mohammed Airport, collided with construction equipment after being cleared to land on closed runway 19R. As the aircraft was rolling out, the main landing gear impacted several construction vehicles parked on the runway, which was closed according to NOTAMs in effect. The aircraft departed the runway, tearing off at least one wing. The flight crew escaped with minor injuries." Airdisaster.com
Aircaft seems to be listing to port quite substantially
I am visiting from Honduras and I think is sad to see a great plane too dirty
This shot is sad to see... Is this company still excist ? If they need mony , made this plane fly just one time and sold this airplane for a cheap price to a airplane museum..... Is not just ONE company who can make this big bird fly again ? just for one time......
Probably stod teir for years
Time for a bath i think! | |
Thats sad | |
A picture that shows a company with a well developed saefty culture.
Its the latest paint scheme for the cargo group and their new marketing campaign. "we transport sewage now," i think it really captures this new service in a captivating way.
To neglect beautiful machines such as this should be punishable by law.
Who owns this brid, I wouldnt mind buying it ,and repairing for flight again does any one have recent shots of the interior ?
This is a sad sight. I think this airline should have invested in more than one plane. Does anyone know what happened to the pilot?!? I guess he lost his job. What a disappointing set of circumstances.
If you ever had the misfortune of having worked on this airplane, it wouldn't " break your heart " to see it rotting away, RIP- and stay there!
That needs cleaning | |
...unpleasant sign of time. Great shot. Beautiful sight of passing away.
The shot is great, but the sight just breaks your heart.
It's a shame to see this bird in such a terrible condition, Awesome shot anyway
Poor 747. Hope they can do somethin´ with it so it can go up again... and soon. So sad it is like this. T.B.
This B747 would make Air France Proud
In 1500 years from now the industrial archeologists will still be puzzled about this heap of metal. Evocative pix anyway!
This old daddy is a world record holder: In 1991 It flew over 1050 people from Addis Ababa (HAAB) to Tel Aviv (LLBG) in one flight!
If the parts you can see look this bad imagine the condition of the things you can't see.
Wow, is sad to see the aviation from this side
Wash me please!!! otherwise this plane belongs to a horror movie seting.
Now that's what I like to call a Dirty Girl!
Nice photo but it breaks my heart to see such a graceful lady in such terrible shape. No airplane should go out like this.
What a shame such a beautiful machine has to llok like this.
It's sad to see the ex 4X-AXD of EL AL Israel Airlines in this condition )-;
Looks like that bird needs some cleaning with some hydro and some air. Soap wont be bad either
Good picture :-) There is a whole heap of non flyable planes at lagos that you taxi past to take off, and some very old rare types
What happened to this poooooor bird?
Well... I like it. Airplanes get rusty with time, just like everything else. Good and original picture!
It's really so sad!!! what a great airplane it was
Great picture but sad to see the plane in such a condition.
Uhh that's not flyable is it? They don't care about planes these days
This is why countries get their airlines banned, this is very sad and disgraceful.
Wow, what happened to that plane?
This Hydro Air Cargo 747 was damaged on landing at Lagos in November 2003 and was written off. Severe damage to number one engine can be seen. Thankfully none of the 9 crew where injured.
It's sad to see this beauty standing there in such a conditions. Once he flew twice a week at Ostend, then at BRussel, and now written off after a stupid incident. RIP ZS-OOS
Note the Swiss container on the left!
Imagine yourself arriving by bus to the apron and see this... It's a shame
Wow! Is that some kind of jungle camo? Terrible condition.
