I recognized her the second I saw her. There was squadrons of B-57's based @ Stewart Air Force Base, Newburgh NY in the 50's and early 60's. Always in the sky overhead. Standing ready 2 go w/ the Cuban msl crisis.

What have they done to that lovely Canberra???!! Seriously, you don't see those things every day, certainly not this low. Nice work there by the photographer.

1940's design still impressive in 2005!

The rarity of the aircraft and the low level fly by..AWesome!!

A visitor from Canada posted Wed November 9, 2005:
The Canberra is really quite an old aircraft design, dating from the early 60s I believe, around the start of the Vietnam War. It's great to see that at least one is still flying and fulfilling a purpose.

I worked this aircraft as he entered the U.S. on this trip. (air traffic controller), I had never even heard of this type, very cool.

I love the way engines are intergated into the wings! Nice plane!

A visitor from United States posted Sun November 6, 2005:
This is an amazing shot. First off the fact that I have never seen this aircraft before makes it quick stunning to see. Secondly the clarity of the airplane in this shot in regard to the fact it must be doing a good speed along the runway is very nice. Once again great shot and bravo to the photographer.
