3-6020 / 160348 (cn H-30) Finally I had a chance to take a photo of this legend cat on the air! It was under overhaul during the past months and now it’s totally airworthy. The ‘8’ in a circle on the fin indicates that the A/C is from Tactical Air Base 8/Isfahan.

The F-14 is legendary. This example has the Pratt engine that was in the early Tomcats. The later "D" model Tomcats were equiped with the super powerful GE F-110 engines. This was a true world-class fighter and interceptor. America and Iran may not see eye to eye politically, but we are both connected somewhat by this great American fighter of the past the F-14 Tomcat.

Iran(ians) must be proud of their airforce they have achived brilliant goals in their missions & maintaince facility. i read an article that iraqi navy were afraid of 2 iranian pilots during the war. (bahre navardi bie amman .. amade bash, amade bash).

Excellent picture, congrats! Iran can really be proud of its military industry for maintaining and finally completely overhauling and upgrading this still extraordinary and versatile fighter-jet with its complex and powerful AWG-9 weapons control system.

This F-14 looks outstanding in its fresh paint. It's a shame that the only place to see an operational Tomcat is in Iran. Great picture.
