Quite a resourceful solution, given the environment of sanctions and all. Plus, it expands Iran's military industrial base. There's definitely something to be said for self-sufficiency in this political climate. Fine pic, by the way.

Call it a joke, but if you can build 20-30 of these for the price of 1 Cobra or Apache...how is that ineffective? Looks pretty simple so pilot training would be cheaper too. How good are a few multi-million dollar SAMs when there are 100 helicopters coming at you?

Regarding some comments below.... comparing this modified Jetranger with Apache or Cobra is unwise. I never heard any propaganda about this inside Iran. Its just experimental project.Lets be fare and compare it with something like OH-58 Quwa. Lets revisit aviation history and find Hundreds of failed projects. At least several of this choppers flying inside with wide variety of armaments and no confirmed crash. I hope they never flying for war. Wait for catch it myself with its nice camouflage.

Many people think this chopper is just some dinky toy. But instead I think it's the first step into Iranian chopper aviation.

Just for your knowledge I have to say that this is a very good step for a young aviation industry in the case of sanctions and especially for an independent country. The goal is to have thousands of light choppers with high manuver capabality instead of just a few heavy and slow ones. SHAHED is completely suitable for this goal.

It's show grow up Iranian Aviation Technology but it's amazing for me!!!
