EP-IAA (cn 20998/275) At the Tehran Aerospace Exhibition Centre. This was the frist 747SP in Iran Air. And now she retired from flying. Working at Iran Air for almost 30 years made her tired. Lovely plane.... This photo is dedicated to Parisa.

Thanks for all the joy you brought to us Persians... and "khodahafez". We will always remember Iran Air 747s as "proud of Persia"

Great shot, Sad ending. Thanks to the Shah who bought these nice airplanes for Iran. Hope we can get more B747s soon!

EP-IAA was the first aircraft I flown on (back in 1983) and has a special meanining to me. During the last months, I'd seen her parked with her engines wrapped at the corner of Mehrabad Intl' Airport and ever since was wondering what had gone wrong with her. Now today I saw this sad news of being retired from flying and I (as a girl!) do wish to cry over her. It's feeling like losing an old friend who has a very special meaning to you. Farewell AA, you'll be always on my mind.

It might be the last picture of "AA" - as I have heard from a friend of Iran Air, EP-IAD is the last one in service now but it is for sure that her hours are also counted ... As non of these SP´s are covered and protected against the elements, it becomes obvious that they will never ever fly again. R.I.P.!

Nice photo opportunity. Wish I could also be so close to an SP with my camera. Good job !

Iran Air is an awsome airline, and in my opinion one of the best still operating 747SP's.
