Shame about the picture quality, but this flight was a historic one, no doubt. The last time Iran Air flew to JFK was back in 1979.

Unbelivable - after so many years Iran Air is back in JFK !!!!!! (even if only for a state visit) Like in the good old days with 747 SP (the last active one in the fleet) !!!

I'm pretty sure this plane was on a charter, which bringing in Mr. Ahmadinejad (current president of Iran) for the UN General Assembly meeting which began the next day (september 14, 2005). This plane came directly from Tehran.
