YU-AMA (cn 46981/259) A view of the tail of JAT DC-10 'Nikola Tesla' at Sydney in Australia's Bi-Centennial Year - 1988. The open rear cargo door is getting some groundcrew attention. The loss of a rear cargo door from THY Turkish Airlines DC-10-10 TC-JAV caused a crash near Paris on 03Mar1974, which claimed 346 lives. That was a cargo door (forward of the passenger door) not fitted to this aircraft. Photo taken while I waited to board a Qantas flight to San Francisco via Honolulu, at the start of a 'Round the World' trip.
