A visitor from United States posted Mon April 21, 2008:A plane has been sitting on the run way for an hour - waiting for bad weather (heavy thunderstoms to subside)before take-off. In such a scenario, who clears the plane to fly? The traffic controllers or the captain? It has been reported in the media that the captain of the ill-fated Kenyan decided to depart meanwhile other airlines were waiting for the weather to improve. How can a pilot decide to fly knowing the weather is bad? Who calls the short? The weather men or the aircraft captain?
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon July 16, 2007:Great send off - what a pleasure to see JAL crew and ground staff appreciating everyones efforts!
A visitor from New Zealand posted Wed December 7, 2005:JAL's best c/s ever....a lot better than the latest one.
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun October 30, 2005:I recently went to Japan and visited haneda domestic airport and narita international airport. They both have huge observation decks where you get some fantastic photos - one of 3 extended jal 777's , one rotating, one in the gate, and one taxiing......fantastic
A visitor from Philippines posted Wed October 19, 2005:Although JAL is phasing out this color scheme, this B777-346 looks great.
A visitor from Dominican Republic posted Wed October 19, 2005:Nice photo. For those that don't know, the aircraft is called Deneb, and have a cygnus because, Deneb is the name of the most bright star of the constellation Cygnus =)
A visitor from Japan posted Wed October 19, 2005:Oh, yes it is a very Japanese traditional way to send those passengers off. And to my friend in Puerto rico, seems that only a few 777s are left in old colours, and in new colours, the names of the stars are gone...
A visitor from Australia posted Tue October 18, 2005:Thanks all for your comments, this one has been sitting in my collection for nearly 18 months and i finally decided to submit it! I dedicate this shot to my good friend Susumu Tokunaga!

A visitor from Puerto Rico posted Tue October 18, 2005:AWESOME SHOT! So JAL planes are named after stars? Its great to see Deneb on that plane, since Astronomy is another thing I love! Gotta be paying attention to JAL planes fron now on.
A visitor from Japan posted Tue October 18, 2005:No... Skymark airline is a japanese airline. Nice pic.
A visitor from United States posted Tue October 18, 2005:First time I saw this was at NRT and a Korean Air jet was pushing back ... I thought it was some sort of wartime repentance but no, they do it for everyone!
A visitor from United States posted Tue October 18, 2005:Nevermind about the Skymarks question. See what happens when you ask a question after you just wake up, eaten no food and decide not to look up simple information?
A visitor from Australia posted Tue October 18, 2005:Ya gotta love it
A visitor from United States posted Tue October 18, 2005:Neat! Now I have a reason to go to Japan. Thanks!
A visitor from United States posted Tue October 18, 2005:That has to make the crew and pax feel good. I'm curious, Skymark is a British airline isn't it? Do they fly to Japan with a stop over somewhere?
