JA8012 (cn 45680/213) "Akan", delivered to JAL 20-11-64, here with special "Japan World Exposition" markings. This aircraft crashed 14-06-72 during approach to New Delhi, Palam Int. Airport, India. Aircraft operating Flight 471 Tokyo to London. While on ILS approach to New Delhi runway 28, the DC-8 crashed on a bank of the River Yamuna, some 15 km from the runway. All but three of the 89 persons aboard were killed, including the 11 crew plus 4 others on the ground
