But then i realised this is a domestic and they cant benefit from the fuel saving abilities on their short runs, so they save themselves the cost of havin them installed. interesting tho, i didnt know that this type doesnt have the extended wingspan of the "normal" -400...

A visitor from Luxembourg posted Fri May 12, 2006: -400D's have no winglets indeed and as D stands for domestic they're not intended to fly long distance routes but Domestic ones. The British vistor's comment is true, the extra wingspan and extra tank from the -400 would make the aircraft heavier whereas the D version is meant to carry as much pax as possible on short routes with high pax density. Nice pic of Mt. Fuji by the way :-) Brgds / GP
