The gray trailing edge of the slat is composite and could have been delaminated by a bird strike. But they will likely fill the dent at the first overnight opportunity and defer a permanent repair until the next C-Check where they will either remove the slat and replace the trailing edge wedge or do a permanent repair with a bondo-like composite resin filler. Good as new. The panel over the pylon is pretty thick metal and likely no harm done there.
