I'll bet you're fellow passengers were rapt to see your window shade up & nav lights flashing, whilst they were trying to sleep!
Definitely a beautiful shot. I always try to admire stars, storms and other aspects that look amazing if seen from up high, but cabin lights will rarely let me do so. Taking such pictures are even harder! An awesome way to celebrate being closer to the stars. Congrats.
Swoop swoop swag | |
True moment of perfection !
Two things i like the most in a picture. :')
This is just too beautiful
Simply great !!!!!!! to take picture like this is a total dream !!!
Unbelievable photo. Can't believe the detail achieved through the plane window.
Awesome photo! What time was this taken? I assume that's the setting (or rising) sun reflecting off the end of the wing?
Great picture! | |
Great | |
Nicee !!! | |
Excellent! The Best Window View I've Ever Seen!
Only 5*! | |
Incredible imagination.Perfect control technic of the photography.Congratulations.
EVERYTHING comes together here, in every sense of the word. Just try to imagine a better colour scheme for the wing. I don't think there is one:)
Amazing shot. Kudos for the absence of blur even at the incredibly long 5-second exposure. Surely you had the camera firmly placed against the window, but still not only the wing but the stars are quite sharp, showing that the airplane did not have the slightest pitch, bank or yaw movement during the long exposure. Well done!
The Most unbelievable picture I have ever seen....this is truly breathtaking and awesome. Thank you for sharing the incredible moment with us
This is why flying is such an amazing experience, especially when you have a window seat.
Great fantastic pic. congratolations
Five stars don't do justice to this photo. Absolutely stunning. One of the best EVER on A.net.
Congratulations, congratulations and congratulations!!!! The colours, the atmosphere, and the mystery the of this photo are super. It looks like "A gate has been opened to another dimension!"
Australia-the best place to see the constellations...
Once-in-a-lifetime shot. Camera, view, and eye came together at just the right time, and the human recognized the opportunity. Truly, the most important piece of photographic equipment is located 3 inches behind the viewfinder!
Surreal... | |
WOW! What else can you say? This is what photography is all about, catching moments like this for all to see. Thank You!
Breathtaking! Absolutely impressive view!
What unique shot. What dreams are of ...
Amazing view! I like this light and stars mirrored upon the wing. Milky way is sooo spectacular!
WOW !!! AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHY !!!!! :o)
Wow! As I saw the 1x2 inch picture i thought it was a photoshopped picture, but then i realised that this amazing sight was real!!
Pushing the limits of what a D3 is capable off, very nice and extra ordinary capture! 5* easily...
"God of wonders beyond our galaxy, You are Holy, Holy, the universe declares your Majesty..." from the song God of Wonders. Beautiful shot, look at all those stars....
Wonderful photography
This is so nice | |

Astonishing!! | |
Brilliant and unique shot! Congratulation and thank you for sharing this view.
Amazing. If you weren't in a new jet, it wouldn't have been as reflective and not nearly as nice. Perfect timing and circumstance.
Are you sure that you weren't sleeping because this photo looks like a dream !!;-)
OMG !!! amazing | |
OMG!!! I rarely give somebody five stars.... But this one is what photography is about. Rare, unique, and hard to emulate; chance and skills combined. Well done and thanks for sharing this!!!!
This is just amazing!! so many stars can be seen in one picture! really catches the eye of any plane or astronomy expert!!
Exellent!!!!! | |
Simply breathtaking | |
Soooo, Airbus is making spacecraft, eh? First the A380 and now this... it makes even the 'Dreamliner' look like an imposter or a phony. This is a dream at its best, and you didn't even a 'Dreamliner' to get it! How ironic. 5 stars just can't sum up this work correctly. This is sheer luck.
Stunning photography and colors!!!!
Simply Wonderful! | |
The Lord draws his dreams to the sky! Thanks to catch this moment!
Awesome! 5 stars! | |
Prism !!!!! | |
Wow, Airbus now making passenger spacecraft!
This is amazing | |
You, sir, are not a fotographer but a magician
Increbible image! so beautiful...
The Australian Sky is amazing! I suppose no turbolence in that flight!
Just one word...."WOW"
Absolutely amazing picture! Two of my biggest interests combined in one picture, astronomy and aviation :-) Reminds me of the old song "Night flight to venus"
Absolutely stunning picture!! 5*

That's really impressive. Nice work on keeping the camera steady!!
This is what it is all about.
Absolutely breathtaking!!!
Simply wonderful! | |
Simply breathtaking. Well done mate. Please don't ever sleep on flights, so you can continue taking such amazing shots.
My goosebumps have goosebumps.
Indescribably beautiful!! Anyone who thinks we're alone out there should take a good look at this picture, which only shows a miniscule part of the universe. The last comment raises a good point for anyone who enjoys looking & photographing out the window, I for one would rather be on a 330, 777 or any "old" school bird than a 787 on a scenic flight, wouldn't you?! TriJetsFan
@Philippe's comment, the irony is taking such photo from the 787 Dreamliner would very hard for a passenger since it features the new electronic tinting windows which will enable the cabin crew to override the pax and dim the windows whenever they like, and as we all know almost all airlines ask the pax to close the window shades on red eye flights. This feature is the only thing I'm not excited about in the 787 and I hope it won't become popular on other aircrafts!
You have to see the picture; words cannot describe it....
Perfect!! | |
Fantastic. | |
Love this shot, awesome pic.
Wow, incredible photo! Such a great depiction of what flying's all about IMO. Very peaceful looking. 5*
In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth ...and Man created airplanes and Airliners.Net
Oh, so you were traveling in the Space Shuttle???
Spectacular would be an understatement!! I've been an a.nutter for many years and I don't remember any photo receiving 186 positive comments in the first 24 hours, I think you set a new record Kavin. Congrats. Regards from SoCal.
Nice | |
Great picture | |
Seems to suggest that you are taking a flight through space itself! The best photo I have ever seen.
Great view ! Something changing from the traditionnal rw side shot with serial # of the plane. Instead of sleeping and dreaming you brought us your dreams. Very nice and many thanks. This A330 was indeed a dream liner ;-) Philippe
Simply awesome... God's creation together with Man-made marvels... good work Kavin
Didn't even think that was possible! wow!
Giving this picture "just" five stars is criminal. I opened the picture and just sat there staring for a good five minutes. This is the best picture on this site and it may never be topped. It is that good.
Wow what a spectacular photo, well done! You've captured the universe and deserve praise for it.
A Billion stars for this!! The Space Association people are foolish sending their probes outside the Earth's atmosphere, whereas NOW its possible form within the Troposphere itself. Fuel, Time & Money saved.
Superb shot. Now I understand why the airline chose its name.
Love it | |
Wow! Excelent!!!! | |
Great idea! | |
Simply the best photograph on this website, congratulations
Stunning shot Kavin, well done, I am wondering how you could keep your hand sturdy for 5 sec!!! Cheers, Mehdi.
Jaw falls off face! | |
An incredible shot :) Congratulations, May I ask the question of the day, how did you manage to hold the camera steady by the window for five whole seconds?

Historical picture for airliners.net Thank you for your talent and steady hand, Kavin! Greetings from FRA Alexander Karmazin
@ the visitor from Hong Kong - unless Im mistaken I think what you see on the wing is the red anti-collision beacon shining on it!
Wait, is this an A330 or is it a Space Shuttle? I am absolutely amazed here!
At least, the number of deserved stars is already on the pic ;)
Dude, you just wrote airliners.net history. And without wanting to take any credit away from you, I think every experienced photographer can agree that Nikon deserves a tip of the hat for producing such an incredible camera!

Absolutely stunning! | |
Wow amazing! | |
Stunning... God's creation and man-made marvels....
That's amazing! | |
Absolutely stunning shot. The sheer scale of space is just scary..and this pic shows a minuscule part of it! We should all be humbled by this - how small we are in the mighty Universe. But at the same time look how clever our species is. We have created these amazing flying machines that have made distance on the little blue rock we call home irrelevant. And beyond that wingtip far in the heavens in the next stage of exploration: the ISS. Whats next..the Moon...Mars...it will happen. But I for one are glad you could not sleep Mr.Kowsari!
Excellent. The red glare on the wing and wingtip are caused by the red strobe light on the top of the fuselage I think, not by the sun.
Oh man, look at all that stardust in the night sky. All I see is twinkle little stars........pun intended :) f14dtomcat
Amazing view! it's really amazing how we can all experience first, business and economy class and views like this from around the world from the comfort of your home no matter in which country you are. Truly amazing!

Congratulations Kavin Kowsari !!! This pict is terrific. it looks like you were onboard the space shuttle... fermin brif
Simply EPIC. | |
Absolutely fantastic !!!!
Great, excellent... they are not good enough for this one.....
Stunning photo, it's such a shame that in most places you would be unable to capture an image with that kind of clarity

Wow! The cosmos and the fruits of our know-how all in one shot. For me this photo shows what a speck we really are whilst at the same time highlighting what is possibly one of man's most valuable traits, his drive to explore and build stuff. This drive gave as the A330 in the photo, it is sure to yield more of the secrets of Universe in the future.
