I like, how you can see the immense size of the aircraft. The aircraft is also perfectly positioned over the beach, and the aircraft itself is also beautiful.

Wow! 10/10 surely. The KLM colours reallly go with the beach surroundings! By the way im new to this aviation stuff so please and try and excuse me but can someone answer this question. Do only 747's land at SXM? Because all videos and pictures i've seen taken at SXM all have 747's. Thanks.

Interesting to see an approach to SXM from this angle. It doesn't look so low from this angle as from on the beach.

KLM has some of the nicest 747 paint jobs, and yeah isn't that a little high?

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun August 28, 2005:
It looks as if the landing gear is invisible!
A visitor from Ireland posted Wed August 24, 2005:
I have been there myself and you can only get that angle if you are standing in a limited amount of hotelrooms and the pressure get high when a heavy is about to land. So to actually make the shot is another thing altogether.
A visitor from New Zealand posted Tue August 23, 2005:
Any pic of a heavy on short final into SXM makes for a great photo, especially when the A/C is a giant B747 400. A truely wonderful place for plane spotters.
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun August 21, 2005:
Almost surreal image, a quiet tropical beach and er, 250 tons of metal hovering over their heads.
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Fri August 19, 2005:
Because the site of this landing KLM 747-406 is captured really well.
A visitor from United States posted Fri August 19, 2005:
The photographer was able to catch the
entire scene that takes place when a
widebody comes into land @ smx.
