A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun March 27, 2011:"Good afternoon this is the captain speaking, our cruising altitude today will be 20 feet".
A visitor from Mexico posted Fri December 24, 2010:Look mom, no landing gear!
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun July 11, 2010:Airborne
A visitor from Jordan posted Sat June 5, 2010:The center of gravity is of course some what behind the struts, otherwise it would make for a dangerous procedure and also the lift from the wings is counter acted by the lift from the tail so it stays balanced during flight. But very nice an impressive picture, saw the procedure a few times when working at KLM.
A visitor from United States posted Fri December 4, 2009:That's the center of gravity right where the jacks are.
A visitor from United States posted Mon October 19, 2009:Good way to float a 747. this should be the 747-400H(hover). Take that airbus, who cant float their A380 for some reason.
A visitor from Kuwait posted Mon October 19, 2009:Brilliant capture!
A visitor from United States posted Fri October 16, 2009:The 74- the true queen! Beautiful pic, really shows the 74's beauty! Braniff747SP
A visitor from - posted Mon October 12, 2009:If this is, when programmed, an ordinary maintenance event,
A visitor from France posted Mon October 12, 2009:Nice one Ruud!!
A visitor from United States posted Sun October 11, 2009:I think those struts are just decoys. Whats really holding the plane is that arm on the left.
A visitor from United States posted Sun October 11, 2009:I saw the airbus a-380 this past august when it made an appearance at the oshkosh air show. with all due respect to airbus and their a-380, it can't hold a candle to the 747. The sheer beauty of 747 will only be enhanced when the even more elegant 747-800 comes on line.
A visitor from - posted Sun October 11, 2009:Imagine if this is a Low-Fly-By
A visitor from Mauritius posted Sun October 11, 2009:Nice shot!
A visitor from Germany posted Sun October 11, 2009:Those struts maybe do not look beefy but they are! The whole weight of the 747 is resting on both of the struts. One is at the back just to support the tail to not come down. That is a normal maintenance procedure for gear swing testing for example.
A visitor from Netherlands posted Sun October 11, 2009:A real Mc Onion photo , Mentor you did a great job...
A visitor from Netherlands posted Sun October 11, 2009:This picture was taken at the Staff Event, celebrating the 90'st birthday of KLM. Alle the people on the right are KLM Staff members and their relatives. Top picture, mine didn't turn out 5% as good... Klasse!! :-)
A visitor from - posted Sun October 11, 2009:The all new Boeing 747-800H(over). Take that, Airbus! ;)
A visitor from Netherlands posted Sun October 11, 2009:Nice picture ruud! i was there olso and it was amazing that day!
A visitor from United States posted Sun October 11, 2009:I Hope One Day I Can Work on Those Beautiful Aircraft!
A visitor from Canada posted Sun October 11, 2009:Great image which clearly shows that she's up much higher than normal on those 'stands' compared to regular gear height in order to test the gear retraction. Also, this image clearly shows one of my all time aviation pet peaves that some airlines do by installing the galley along the outside wall of the A/C. What a waste of prime window seats. Really, wouldn't it make more sense having the galley run down the middle? After all the galley obviously doesn't need windows as shown by this image.
A visitor from Turkey posted Sun October 11, 2009:I have to agree with the other comments here. The 747 is truly beautiful! This photo emphasizes that beauty very well. She is still the Queen! Absolutely gorgeous!
A visitor from United States posted Sun October 11, 2009:Well this looks epic, the A380 wouldn't shine like that.
A visitor from - posted Sun October 11, 2009:Awesome photo! and a great perspective on a flying 747
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun October 11, 2009:Wow, they must be strong!
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun October 11, 2009:Those struts don't look that beefy? Can they really hold up a 747?
A visitor from United States posted Sun October 11, 2009:She's beautiful. It is truly something that the A380 just can't compete with.
A visitor from Iceland posted Sun October 11, 2009:WoooW, a floating 747 :) 5*
A visitor from United States posted Sun October 11, 2009:Wow, never seen that before!

A visitor from - posted Sun October 11, 2009:Beautiful... looking at the port side engines on the other side gives you an idea how massive she is...
