Nice picture, but I have a question: Why is the F/O wearing 2 stripe epaulets?

I think the 2 stripes means he has a frozen ATPL, right? It's something I only saw in Europe. Maybe a JAA thing? When he has 3 stripes, that means he has enough experience to get his ATPL.

The F/O has two stripes because he's in training. After completion the F/O will get 3 stripes

The 3 strips has nothing to do with Frozen ATPL.

My guess is that he just recently "upgrade" to F/O on the Narrowbody fleet from a S/O position on the Widebody fleet and has not exchanged his epaulet for the 3 stripes one.

This is the normal KLM career path.
