After a short cruise from ‘’spotters paradise’’ we started our descend into another great Caribbean island (CUR). The second officer was flying the airplane while the first officer requests a slightly right turn by ATC to avoid some conflicting weather in front of us. We were cleared for the visual approach for runway 11 and during the approach we had a view on the truly Caribbean trademark: the blue sea and its cool white beaches. Enjoy the absolutely wonderful view!

Two-striper in the left seat? I imagine there was a captain onboard, sitting in a jumpseat... ;)

Excellent shot Daan, you captured wonderful details and the colors really make the shot stand out. Did the S/O do the landing as well or not?

Thank you all! No the S/O is allowed to be the PIC above FL100. When we reached FL100 the Captain takes it over, and yes the Captain was siting next to me on the jumpseat.

Actually the S/O is only allowed to fly the aircraft in CRUISE FLIGHT above FL200. So not in the descent at FL100 as stated, offcourse that is the legal side. What happens in the flight deck, stays in the flight deck.

Nice pic, best job in the world cruising your 747 over the carribean from SXM-CUR! gotta love it

No, KLM allows the S/O to fly above FL100, don't know the rules of other airlines.....

Not true, KLM policy allows the CRP to act as PF or PM above FL200. Offcourse in case of... the CRP will act as PF or PM during the descent up to and including touchdown.
