I love the smell of burning rubber! There is great detail in the flap section of this 747. Also note the wrinkles in the hull of the plane. Will these be permanent or just because of the pressure of the landing. Pan shot at 1/160s

Holy Shit!! Must have been a rather hard touch-down. Well, I guess this wrinkles are permanent, as you can see on some different photos in an appropriate (smooth) angel. So I would say these wrinkles are permanent, if not, then the hull had suffered a major damamge on that touch-down.

I have got to say that this is a very beautiful shot. The photographer had perfect timing on this one. My hats off to you. Great job.

Great timing and detail in this pic to catch the burning rubber and still get clear focus on fuselage

I would say that they are permanent because when I do a walk around for the Cessna 172 (flying school) one of the things we look for is 'wrinkles' along the tail section, which indicate a hard landing. although the scale that we are talking about here is somewhat larger!!

Reminds me of the cover of KLM's 1993 yearbook "The World of KLM" only there were no wrinkles there. And no PH-BFU yet either, furthest was BFR :)
