On final approach for runway 06 inbound from Vancouver as KL682. The First Officer at the controls is bringing us down for a smooth landing. This is one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had aviation related; Flying in the cockpit of the mighty MD11! Therefore I’ve chosen this to be my 200th photo on a.net! I’d like to dedicate it to everyone I’ve met around the airports, everyone who has inspired me with their shots and to everyone involved in keeping the metal birds in the sky! You’re the best!

Amazing! I was unaware there were 3-holers out there with such advanced cockpits. At first glance I thought I was looking at the cockpit of a brand-new plane!

The starboard jumpseat is the best seat in the house (other than the two front seats). Just raise the seat up and rest your feet on the comm console.

Great photo. How small does that runway look?! These guys make it look easy but that is a very small piece of tarmac to put a 200 tonne aircaft on while it is travelling at about 150 knots.

This captures the atmosphere very well, as you can see the concentrated 1st officer and the slight banking which is being corrected by the PIC carefully managing the throttle. The ambient light in the cockpit is just right to see all the details, as it the exposure of the exterior. Focus is also very good, as it reaches from the shoulders of the pilots upto the runway. Nice touch is the Dutch keycord. The photographer was obviously prepared when he took this picture. Very nice photo!
