HL7372 (cn 48408/457) Not something you see everyday, a Korean Air MD-11 freighter sitting on its tail, this fateful day in 2002 brought one very unsual sight for me to see, the cranes are being used to help straighten her up.

The most surprising fate or a sign of bad news to come... this same plane crashed in Nov 2009 after its tail struck the runway at Shanghai Pudong airport. It was operated by Avient, and crashed just 8 days after being delivered to them...

The crane straps are to let her down gently. After the load is balanced out.

MD-11 converted has that problem, the same happened two times to Alitalia Cargo MD-11, one time in FCO and another time in MXP. Nice shot, very unusual!

Thats a 1 in a million shot, well done! One query though, if the planes nose lifted on its own the/n why are the crane straps underneath the fuselage
