This Loganair Twin Otter is seen here unloading from its previous flight before turning round and departing for the Hebridean island of Barra as Flight BE6855. The airport surface at Barra is the sand of Traigh Mhor beach, so flights are dependent on tides. The Captain told me that despite the remote north Atlantic location, flights are rarely cancelled because of weather and crews can land in winds of up to 70 knots, although current regulations allow for only 50. That’s still quite a wind.
