A visitor from Germany posted Sat July 11, 2009:Just great to see the degree of affection of crewmembers regarding this piece of engineering artwork (tolle kiste, wir werden Dich vermissen (great machine, we'll miss you). The A300 was and will always be my favourite plane. As a kid I was thrilled when it entered service for the unique sound it made while climing - so soft and gentle, yet powerful (I grew up in the DUS suburbia and when I stood up at 7 in the morning I could distinguish the batch of departing l´planes by their sounds, the BAC1-11 being the worst and the A300 the sleekest). I will never forget my first flight in an Air-Inter A300 MLH-CDG, so large, so spacy, so soft, so gentle, so powerful. I listened to the beginning of Mozart's C Major Symphonie (on a walkman, that was the device of the days) while the bird took off, it was such a powerful moment! Lets hope the bird will not yet retire. Let's wish her luck!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu July 9, 2009:Got to love the A300, pioneer plane that has shaped modern day travel as we know it today, who would have thought that widebody twin jets would be the norm? All down to this workhorse. A fitting tribute

A visitor from Argentina posted Thu July 9, 2009:Last year, flying from Athens to Frankfurt, I was supposed to fly in a A300. I was happy, thinking it would bring memories of my childhood, when I flew in a VASP A300: I had then flown many times on 737, it was the first time I flew on a widebody and I was very impressed! Unfortunately, LH changed the plane to a A321, so I lost my last chance to ride this great machine...

A visitor from - posted Thu July 9, 2009:She should be set up on display at Lufthansa headquarters, and put on a pedestal in thanks for all her great years of service. Or at the entrance to her home airport to greet all the travellers who pass through. After all, she's no ordinary lady, she deserves special treatment! -from Canada
