D-AIAM (cn 408) L1 door of the last ever A300 in Lufthansa service, picture taken at the farewell party in Frankfurt. Many employees took the chance to pay their tribute before the "Rosenheim" completed the final revenue flight as LH3853 FCO-FRA. Please also note the "tears" of the Airbus. We will miss you, too!

Great pic! Rosenheim my hometown. Will Lufthansa use the name again for one of its new birds?

Sorry to see you going....

A visitor from Germany posted Sat July 11, 2009:
Just great to see the degree of affection of crewmembers regarding this piece of engineering artwork (tolle kiste, wir werden Dich vermissen (great machine, we'll miss you). The A300 was and will always be my favourite plane. As a kid I was thrilled when it entered service for the unique sound it made while climing - so soft and gentle, yet powerful (I grew up in the DUS suburbia and when I stood up at 7 in the morning I could distinguish the batch of departing l´planes by their sounds, the BAC1-11 being the worst and the A300 the sleekest). I will never forget my first flight in an Air-Inter A300 MLH-CDG, so large, so spacy, so soft, so gentle, so powerful. I listened to the beginning of Mozart's C Major Symphonie (on a walkman, that was the device of the days) while the bird took off, it was such a powerful moment! Lets hope the bird will not yet retire. Let's wish her luck!

A visitor from Norway posted Sat July 11, 2009:
Great picture and aircraft ! I have flown the A300 only 3 times I think. Once with Thai Airways and twice with American Airlines.

A visitor from South Africa posted Sat July 11, 2009:

A visitor from - posted Sat July 11, 2009:
I had the chance in 2006 to flew in one of those A300 from FRA to TXL, I was flying stand by because usually this route is cover with A320 or A321 but that day it was a big change an A300 really good luck for me... I can clearly remember that memorable day :)

A visitor from Poland posted Thu July 9, 2009:
I have flown an A300 only once and it was a Lufthansa flight. Additionally it was my first flight on a widebody aircraft. A truly unforgettable moment! I will miss you. With Love. Bye Bye.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu July 9, 2009:
Got to love the A300, pioneer plane that has shaped modern day travel as we know it today, who would have thought that widebody twin jets would be the norm? All down to this workhorse. A fitting tribute

A visitor from Germany posted Thu July 9, 2009:
I will miss this bird. Had some nice flights with it =(

A visitor from Argentina posted Thu July 9, 2009:
Last year, flying from Athens to Frankfurt, I was supposed to fly in a A300. I was happy, thinking it would bring memories of my childhood, when I flew in a VASP A300: I had then flown many times on 737, it was the first time I flew on a widebody and I was very impressed! Unfortunately, LH changed the plane to a A321, so I lost my last chance to ride this great machine...

A visitor from - posted Thu July 9, 2009:
It was the last of the A-300

A visitor from United States posted Thu July 9, 2009:
I've only flown on one A300, it was Lufthansa. It was actually in 2007. I didn't know the significance of that flight.

A visitor from - posted Thu July 9, 2009:
A truly incredible moment that will forever remain one of the great moments in history, both now and forever.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu July 9, 2009:
Awesome and also very emotional... I saw "Güle Güle" (which means good bye in Turkish). LOL at "yeter!!" just above güle güle, which means enough!! in Turkish.. Thats how our guys say goodbye to the plane :))

5 stars, by the way:)

A visitor from Germany posted Thu July 9, 2009:
Will it be scrapped? I hope they put the door at Ebay before :))

A visitor from El Salvador posted Thu July 9, 2009:
Nice picture, it carries a lot of feelings... check there's a spanish word: "Adios" (next to TO OPEN label) mean "Good Bye" :(

A visitor from Bahamas posted Thu July 9, 2009:

A visitor from Ireland posted Thu July 9, 2009:

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu July 9, 2009:
The only A300 I ever flew and yet she will be missed. used to visit us here in HAM a lot and I cant believe I'm not gonna see a LH A300 again :( great photo, thx a lot

A visitor from - posted Thu July 9, 2009:
She should be set up on display at Lufthansa headquarters, and put on a pedestal in thanks for all her great years of service. Or at the entrance to her home airport to greet all the travellers who pass through. After all, she's no ordinary lady, she deserves special treatment! -from Canada

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu July 9, 2009:
I've seen him leaving FRA for the last time as ferry-flight to a new destination. Roaring down the runway and getting airborne only after a few hundred meters. He climbed like a rocket.

A visitor from Germany posted Thu July 9, 2009:
Goodbye old lady, I will miss you and I will never forget my flights to LHR and DUS when I was sitting in the flightdeck of your sisters AS and AX from take-off to landing - THANK YOU!

A visitor from Germany posted Thu July 9, 2009:
Gives me goosebumps big time! Who said machines and humans can't be friends? Thank you for this very emotional picture

A visitor from Turkey posted Thu July 9, 2009:
Good bye big boy. I don't know if it will be sold.

A visitor from Germany posted Wed July 8, 2009:

A visitor from Australia posted Wed July 8, 2009:
You can capture the emotion of this image in many ways, sad to see the last of this A300, esp with the way lufthansa look after their airplanes, they are always immaculate!
Any idea on the fate of this a/c ?
