A visitor from - posted Sun November 1, 2009:To the comment below, yes I remember well, as it was the husband of the owner of the FBO I used to fly out of. Very tragic accident.
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:These guys are lucky! I say that because several years ago, a Cessna Citation crashed on takeoff from Van Nuys, due to an open cargo door as I recall...some a.net members will remember this I'm sure...
A visitor from United States posted Wed July 1, 2009:This same situation caused a crash at VNY a few years back when the baggage door opened and luggage was ingested into one of the engines on departure. Glad this one made it back intact.
A visitor from Austria posted Wed June 24, 2009:You know what, i know the F/O. It was not their fault, it was a material fault in the closing mechanism. They made it safe home, but it is still a very funny story to tell.
A visitor from United States posted Sat May 30, 2009:Nice capture! I'm glad that the plane didn't crash. The same thing happened to my friend's CJ but there was debris that came out and hit the engine/tail section. He crashed shortly after takeoff from VNY along with the other pilot. I'm glad the outcome of this was one was good, though!
A visitor from - posted Mon May 25, 2009:Wow, that doesn't happen everyday. Hopefully nothing valuable fell out!
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon April 20, 2009:Detail well captured - First officer looks understandably concerned, but I think if i was F/O I would have to see the funny side to this one! (if only after a safe landing) Good work Andreas!
A visitor from United States posted Mon April 13, 2009:Haha. Man, thats not a lot of space for cargo.
A visitor from Mexico posted Sat December 13, 2008:Is not an everyday circumstance to have an open compartment and a photographer on your side.
