9M-MRM (cn 29066/336) On 26 April 2001, this aircraft departed Boeing Field, Seattle for Kuala Lumpur and flew over the North Pole, the first ever by a twin-engine commercial aircraft before continuing non-stop to Kuala Lumpur, making Malaysia Airlines the first Asian commercial airline to successfully fly a twin-engine aircraft on one of the four newly opened Polar Air routes.
