All airports in the world have a queue of Taxis waiting outside to pick you up, but I guess nowhere else in the world, the queue is so pleasing to see and to photograph like the one at the Maldives. [EOS300D+ Sigma 18-50]

Nice shot. These "Taxi Drivers" are skilful in parking parallel. I always enjoy watching pilots in Victoria, BC, landing their DHC-6 and maneuvering it on the dock using thrust reverser.

Very good shot. MAT's fleet is somewhere around 18 or so if im not mistaken. I also have read that its the largest fleet of seaplanes in operation. These planes operate mainly to the resorts (each resort is located on its own island) for tourist transfers. The other seaplane operator in maldives is TMA which operates 15 planes i beleive.

I'm a 747 pilot, and would change my job in a second to fly for these guy's! Perfect angled shot. I've flown just about every type of seaplane but these look like the ultimate fun!

I wonder why do they open wide the doors? What's the purpose?

The doors are open to keep the aircraft cool.

I miss these TWIN OTTERS!
We flew with part of this fleet out of Vancouver north. Since a time they moved them somwhere else. Now I see where! It is a great plane and fun to fly with. Get back to Vancouver!!!!!

This was my favorite airport by far ... pilots and pax departing for the metroploes of europe, asia and us where barefeet while the arriving lot wore shoes ... the climate reminded me of a spa
