A visitor from United States posted Thu January 20, 2011: Historic-yes! But at the time the public didn't know of the engineering/manufacturing secret internal 'short-cuts' taken--that resulted in the THY crash in Paris, and the Windsor incident (poorly designed cargo doors).

His last 22 years at United he flew DC-10's on mainly international routes from the USA. He said he loved the DC-10. He flew the 727, and DC-8 before his final 22 on the big tri-jet. He said that the DC-10 was the most solid platform flying.

Sorry for long word, it is just there is something about looking at a DC-10 which I find in no other aircraft.
