I "flew " this airplane with my father, Stephen Meyers, George Milligan, and others, in the 70's while in high school/college and a gas pumper at Logan/Reavis at MFR. I never realized how lucky I was to sit in a double radial engine airplane and get to "fly" it at all hours. Many great memories of those 2 bladed props with the supersonic "brraatt" on takeoff. I remember getting the plane all trimmed up to hold altitude when the neonatal nurse decided to get up and check the baby in the incubator (the nurses all seemed to weigh over 250 lbs). I would scramble with the trim to keep us level. I was very lucky to have this experience. Thanks so much to my Dad-Steve, George, Wayne, Brent, Conn, and Norm for those great summers. I loved flying in this plane and I am so happy to see it displayed for all to see in a museum. George Milligan was a pioneer and I was fortunate to know him. Thanks to Wayne for a job and money to spend at OSU. Thanks to Brent for teaching me about flying (one of the most talented natural pilots I've ever known). Thanks to Norm for being a friend. Thanks to my Dad for getting me the job and showing me the love of flying! You helped win the Cold War and that's more than enough! | |
