The Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA) is pulled forward into the mate/demate device. The yellow metal device on top is fasted at attachment points on Shuttle and used to lift her off the SCA. Note the persons checking the positioning during process.

This combination of 747 and space shuttle is very rarely seen and the fact that the demating device is seen makes this picture very unique.
