That is an absolutely stunning capture! It's almost as if "someone above" was helping to create a beautiful backdrop for a historic, bittersweet moment.

My vote for PC for such a sensual picture. You've done a very good job taking this unique photo! I don't think it was easy to find the right place out of airport for this beauty but you did it and now we'll remember this photo for a long time! Thx!

Extremely fitting, as the sun sets on Discovery's legendary life

Great contrast. The break in the clouds sharply highlights the details of the joined aircraft. A very poignant moment with the end of the program.

Gorgeous backdrop with the sunrise behind clouds, great silhouette of the very unusual-looking aircraft in the sky and in action (banked), great framing. A once-in-a-blue-moon shot, congrats!

That's a beautiful shot, but what is the faded line running through the shot at the top? Is it a telephone wire or something?
Anonymous

Yes I believe it was a wire of some sort. This unexpected shot happened quickly as the SCA circled behind us, unplanned, and there was no time to notice or move.

Awesome shot, it does seem to be "flying off into history" literally and figuratively. Thanks for sharing and posting without the "watermark" it looks beautiful as my desktop wallpaper.
