Remark Photographer
N817NA (cn 46082/458) NASA's Genesis and Rapid Intensification Processes (GRIP) experiment aircraft. She is being readied for a flight into the eye of Hurricane Earl which is currently churning in the Atlantic Ocean and heading towards landfall somewhere along the east coast of the US. You can notice some of the instrument probes for atmospheric sampling on the top of the fuselage and on the underwing surface. You would think that penetrating the hurricane eye wall at 33,000 feet would clean all the windows like a car wash!
