Remark Photographer
N853NA (cn 0100/A070) Edwards AFB Open House 2006. NASA uses this F/A-18A in the “Active Aeroelastic Wing Flight Research” program. The program focuses on aircraft roll control by twisting a flexible wing. The forces acting on the conventional aircraft control surfaces are used to twist the flexible wing to provide aircraft roll control. The aircraft has been heavily modified and includes more flexible skin panels, additional actuators, a new flight control computer and research instrumentation. (Canon 350D + Sigma 18-125)
