The unpiloted X-34 was a technology testbed demonstrator that was designed to demonstrate key vehicle and operational technologies applicable to future low-cost reusable launch vehicles. The vehicle structure is all-composite with a one-piece delta wing design. It was designed to be launched from a Orbital L-1011. Powered by a single rocket engine it would have been capable of reaching a Mach 8. Three were built but sadly in 2001 the project was cancelled due to spiralling costs
