Remark Photographer
OV-105 (cn OV-105) "Endeavour" departs on the 6,577,800 mile STS-123 mission at 2:28:14 a.m. EDT on March 11, 2008. Technically, the most difficult shot I have attempted because of the sudden switch from low light levels to intense sun-like light and speed changing from 0MPH to thousands in seconds at distance of 4 miles. Perfect clarity, captures the shuttle, flame, smoke, and even the top of the fixed service structure of the launch pad, absolutely breathtaking shot of something that couldn't possibly be seen so clearly in anything but a still shot. Even the name of the shuttle is legible - stunning!

Really enjoy the contrasts in light and dark, the shadows in the clouds below the shuttle. Great shot! (Oh wait, I'm not supposed to say 'Great Shot'?) :)

Would have been a great shot if it weren't for the watermark that dominates the image!

Out of the dozens of shuttle photos, this one really is awesome. What an incredible capture. The play of light is really brilliant. Well done Suresh, well worth the night's trip. Also, really enjoyed your narration of the photo. ~Yousuf/CA
