It is not often one gets to look down upon an operational space shuttle orbiter but here is one such time. "Discovery" has been rolled into the Vehicle Assembly Building atop its motorized trailer. The yellow sling and two cranes (175 tons for the tail and 325 tons for the nose) have been attached. These cranes are mounted on the roof of the VAB and are worked with perfect precision by human operators to lift the orbiter off the trailer and then up to the roof and down to gets its rockets + fuel tank.
