N801AY (cn 8001) On 3/31/06 a brief F1 tornado touchdown over TUL. The winds from the storm caused ground service equipment to ram into the nose cone of the plane. The strong winds also caused the CRJ to shift from its position causing the damage to the nose gear strut.

The Tornado was embedded in the storm. There was so much rain that the radar could not give a clear sounding on the circulation. Even the National Weather Service did not see it! Lucky all the flights were over for the day and there weren't large numbers of people at the airport when it struck! Nice photo, you can really see the damage.
