229 (cn 5502) On 11 May 1940 this fighter was shot down by Bf 110s near Nieuwkoop (which happens to be my birthplace). In 1993, the wreckage was excavated by members of the Crash Foundation. Reconstructed, it now sits in their small museum. It's all that remains of the 1940 Dutch fighter aircraft. [The museum has now moved to Aalsmeerderbrug, just south of AMS]

The entourage is great! and the remainders plane itself are beautifully reconstructed! there is even a "pilot" in it. the soldier next to the plane adds to the "diorama" feeling. absolutely fabulous!
