Incredible moment at Volkel AB today when the J-068 crashed right in front of me. Fortunately, the pilots ejected safely. The F-16 crashed into a shelter.

The fact that it is apparent that there were two survivors of the incident. Too often, there are no chutes visible and we lose another of the brethren.

This is the airliners.net one in a million and I know the current site photo count! Best photo. best angle. best right place at the exact time shot.. ten stars if I could!! It is often sad that an a/c was lost but... this shot is the kind of shot that is realistically sobering to us pilots. especially to the one's who can't pull the lever if something goes wrong! Best thought provoking shot I have seen on A.net (better then famous airshow incident we all know about)! Glad crew ok.

When I first saw this pic I thought the pilots were ejecting to get some fresh air. The plane is flying perfectly straight. Cool pic.

Safe ejection is one of the biggest fortunes in the life of a pilot. This is an extremely rare shot for its contents. Thanks for sharing with us. 5 stars.

Ejections are always exciting to witness, but never so clear and details. I was impressed with the chaff and what I suspect are thousands of pages of paperwork in the debris field under the aviators. And, the jet sails on in what looks like a perfectly stable flight...
