Can anyone explain why the body of old air crafts were left as a metallic finish that could easily reflect light and give off their positions? We had camo patterns in use in WW two as evident with the Brit spitfires and zigzag camo patterns on battle ships and woodland type camo on German panzers etc why not our aircraft?

I wonder if he ever flies that aircraft at night or IFR? I don't see enough antennas for IFR.
Now days they could mount a video system in the lower nose area for a view forward of the nose for taxi and takeoff. That's the ticket.
