N6972C / JF-72 (cn 88-17678) This Texan was originally built in 1942 for USAAF as AT-6D-NT Texan serial 42-85897, but delivered to US Navy, redesignated SNJ-5 BuNo 90680. In 1963 was sold to civil user and registered N6972C. Flew among others as racer nr. 72 "Terrible Texan" and in 1989 crashed during takeoff at Compton, California. In March 2010 was sold to Mnichovo Hradiště in Czech republic, transported from Rockford, Illinois.
