Welcome to the 727 party!
Only American's color scheme survives to this day, and all these brands are now only three. And the three appear in the picture. You get that 70's feeling on this pic
Heyday of 727 | |
A fantastic capture! Eight 727's! I really wonder if we will all get misty-eyed in 25 years time by a a picture of 8 A-319's, anno 2011. I don't think so...
Great | |
If the 747 was (and she still is ) the "Queen of the Skies" then back when this photo was taken, the 727 was the "Princess"
I loved the 727. Great to see so many of them in different liveries in this picture.
This photo almost makes me want to cry, especially since it's focused on that NW 727. My very first flight was on a NW 727-200ADV from BWI to DTW. It's super impressive that there are legendary 727s from seven U.S. majors, captured in one shot! And out of all of those airlines, only THREE exist, today... AA, DL, & UA. CO is basically gone with the UA merger ... TWA is gone(merged into AA) ... EA is gone (liquidated). Sigh, we'll never have American glory days of aviation like this, again. At one point, the U.S. had over a dozen 'majors'... now we have about four?? Wonderful photo! Did anyone else catch that red New York Air DC-9 behind the EA A300??
Great pic... To think of the hisotry here.. NW merged w Delta... Continental is now w United.. TWA is now w AA
The 727's ruled the roost back in the day. Wonderful days those were. I wish for those days to return. Unfortunately, they never will. No more TWA, Eastern, Northwest, and now Continental.
So many B-727. | |
TWA is gone. And so is Eastern. Now NW is merged with Delta.
Look at all those colors.
This photo is a classic. It's like a high school year book...some old friends we never see again, and others change. But there is always that one friend that stays the same (reference to AA)
Note the only livery still around is AA, they really got it right. By the way (today) the 727 burns way too much gas and the power to weight not too good either. Long live the 757!
How i miss the days of the 727
One more beautiful picture of the legendary 727 the sight of this pic gave me a chicken skin missed those days
This is so cool! I remember flying a Delta 3-holer our of La Guardia in 1980. This is very much what it looked like that day, except there were even more Eastern jets on the ramp. All 727s. Man I miss those days!! T-tails and aft mounted engines are quickly becoming a thing of the past... so sad.
Wonderful Memories of my first trip to the US in 1984. What an outstanding beautiful aircraft the 727 was...
Simply great . I really miss those days :(
Wonderful picture! I miss those birds.
727 central | |
Seven 727's from seven different airlines in the same picture...simply amazing! I love those old Northwest, Delta, and Continental liveries.
727 city!!! | |
I agree with visitor form USA, it is nostalgic...miss those good old days along with beautifull B-727...
Exellent picture. Really nice!!!
Fabulously nostalgic with all those 72's and lurking in the distant fog a lone EA A-300. NW's old colors were really beautiful and eyecatching also and make for a great focal point in this photo.
Wow!!!! what a shot. this sure brings back memories because it was the first type of jet i flew on in 84 from dominicana. what a collection of old school graphics.....simply amazing.
Outstanding grouping of classic 727 aircraft, the workhorse of the 70's.
She's the dc3 of its time , at every airport in world u can see 727 take-off or landing 5 ***** for this beautiful lady
Those were the days!!!!
Kickin' it old school! :-P
A historical picture that all the old airline and also the old aircraft came back!
All those airlines also operate DC9S. Exept UA
Among all those great airlines, only 2 are out of business.
Hey Gerard ! thx for that pict.....
Wonderful shot of many great airlines!
This sure is an amazing peek back in time!
All the legendary american airliners in 1 shot wow wait except pan am but still a great shot
Wow! Ten aircraft visible, and eight of them are 727's! Definitely an era that's long past, brings back memories though.
Wow, blast form the past. I was 2 years old when this photo was taken. Pity I couldn't appreciate aircraft then like I do now.
Reminds me the time I was flying from FLL to LGA weekly with Eastern Airlines..... memories, memories !
Cool shot. Hehe, all mainliners, no small jets/props.
Oh, what a nice atmosphere...
5 stars :] | |
727 heaven. | |
Congratulations on a really good picture. It's a lot of 727 for sure.
In this shot you can see that the 727 was a very popular plane.
Lots of this legendary bird, the 727, and an Eastern A300 in the background. What a shot. T.B.
Sweet all retro jets.... :)
Those were the days... | |
My how the look has changed and I miss Eastern and TWA.
A Blast from the Past! Great Photo showing many Great Airlines! jp
This picture clearly shows how big the 727 was in its glory days. You can 727s of 7 majors US carriers of that time; NW, UA, DL, EA, TW, CO and AA. Great tribute to the 727!
WOW I can't believe you didn't mention there are 727's from SEVEN different operators in this shot! It's amazing how popular that aircraft was!
Superb & Fantastic picture! Never seen such a great meeting of a very special airliner. On this unique pic "8 Boeing 727's - from 7 different Airlines" can be told.
