A visitor from Canada posted Mon November 22, 2010: The pilot is the appeal for me in this shot, his name was Simon Lawrence, He was the pilot of this actual aircraft when it crashed on 3rd August 2008, he died with four other passengers, there were two survivors.

A visitor from United States posted Tue May 25, 2010: When I was 18 I got my first job with Western Airlines in reservations. We had a pass agreement with Catalina Airlines. On my day off I would drive to LGB and hitch a ride in the right seat and hand crank the gear up after T/O and do the reverse on the way back an hour later. Great memory of a beautiful aircraft. 11 years later I married a Navy Pilot. Aviation has always been a positive part of my life.
