The Photog's seredipitous (we all depend on blind luck) use of lighting conditions made this an attractive composition. But to call it a "Clipper"? Ingenuous. My favorite Pan Am seat was the far right seat in the first row of first class in any Pan Am Clipper 747 and watching the runway come up on final. Those were the days when the Captain was happy and proud to show you around the front office. But the blue sphere on the vert stabilizer does create a streak of nostalgia to one who recalls the great days of commercial flying.

A visitor from United States posted Sat January 14, 2006: Awesome photo. Bringing back an old favorite and will not be forgotten. The Airline's website says that the Pan Am service is offering limited service on the east coast of the US and charter flights. Sign me up!
A visitor from Canada posted Fri January 13, 2006: Actually PAN AM is in business again. As far as I know they started operating out of old air-force base in New Hampshire. It is called Pease International Airport right now. They mainly fly for BostonMaine Airways to ATL and Florida.I have worked at Manchester Airport for US Airways ( 1998-2002)in NH and I have seen them flying from yearly 2001 if I remember correctly. It's great to see clippers again.

That was in 1986, Helsinki-Oslo-London/Heathrow by B737-200, and on to San Francisco by B747-200. - Proud to have been flying this magnificent airline!
