N47**U Another angle on United's forward coach lounge, looking starboard. First cabin is just forward of the bulkhead on the left.I don't know how the businessmen felt about the kids running around. That tube hanging over the back of the older gentleman’s seat? A pneumatic (tube type) headset.

Congrats for this unique and authentic iconographic document of a time when First Class was really for the upper crust. People used to dress up and not dress down while flying as it is the case in both Emirates and SIA forward A380 cabins!

As far as revenue seating, this forward lounge actually had 18 (forward- and rearward-facing)salable seats, including the swivels. Filling them was another issue as this shot is six years prior to U.S. deregulation. No airline wanted to be left behind by NOT ordering widebodies.
