Pan Am's 'Clipper Kit Carson' taxies in after a historic First daytime touch-down, on Rw 16 at Sydney's new International Airport. The First Boeing 747 Arrived in Australia on 04Oct1970 - Pan Am's B747-121 N734PA arrived at night, 9.5 hours late. Crowds turned out a few days later when N741PA arrived on time. (N734PA's 04Oct70 Return trip to LAX via HNL was eventful. Landed at Nadi Fiji due to bomb scare, and aborted take-off at HNL due engine problem. Arrived LAX 24 hours late.) Aarne Langley was aboard.
